30 Aug Heart-Soul Essence
Our current universe is a vast ‘cosmic arena’ — a construct of light, designed as the ultimate space of experience for the soul. To enter this arena, the soul passes through The Great Void. This immense, unfathomable emptiness serves as the ‘immune system’, or boundary barrier, of this universe. It ensures that nothing can retain its absolute, infinite form within this bounded creation. In order to pass through this barrier and manifest itself within this matrix, the soul’s original and indivisible heart-soul essence must divide.
The Division: Love and Knowledge
As the soul travels through the Great Void, the heart-soul essence fragments so that it can resonate with the lower frequencies of this universe. This gives rise to two fundamental aspects that drive our 3D reality and its duality:
- Spirit (Spirit/Light):The masculine, outwardly directed aspect of action. It is connected to the mind, the intellect, light, spatial geometry and the structure of the matrix.
- Conscious (Consciousness/Soul):The feminine, inwardly directed aspect. This resonates with the organic, true essence, with love, deep wisdom and the heart.
This cosmic cell division creates the intense friction and contrast — light versus dark, good versus evil, action versus surrender — that allows us to experience duality in this third dimension in its most extreme forms.
Integration as the Way Out
The heart-soul essence, however, is not only the gateway in; it is also the only organic route out of this universe. We do not need to ‘ascend’ vertically or hierarchically out of our bodies in order to be free. The true way out is the process of integration. Once a soul has genuinely exhausted every possible experience of duality, the urge to turn inwards arises.
The path back asks of us that we fully see, survey, realise and integrate every experience we have gathered — however dark or painful it may be. This is the moment in which we reclaim our true autonomy, by placing the dominant mind (spirit/intellect) back in service of the heart (conscious/soul), and in which we remember that we are multidimensional creator beings. Leaving the cosmic arena is therefore not a flight into the light, but a radical, compassionate homecoming into one’s own shadow and essence.
The Compassionate Heart in Practice
- The Invitation, or the path of the compassionate heart, is both a powerful metaphor and a practical means of cultivating a life lived from this heart-soul essence. Integration during our human life takes place through a synthesis of knowledge and love, which I describe as awareness and compassion:
- Awareness: Being clearly, groundedly and non-judgementally present with all split-off soul aspects and traumas.
- Compassion: Offering a safe, unconditional space to these densified energies, without wanting to fix them or push them away.
- Completion: By remaining in this heart resonance, old, stuck experiences are able to complete their natural cycle and merge back into the core.
- Facilitation: When you are the space for your own shadow pieces, your compassionate state of being acts as an energetic anchor. Through this you become directly — and often invisibly — available to facilitate the process of completion for other souls within your field.
Exercise: Coming Home to the Heart-Soul Essence
1. Locating the Crossing Point
Sit or stand comfortably. Stretch your arms out wide to either side to sense the horizontal line of your body. Then bring your attention to the vertical line running from the crown of your head down to your tailbone. Feel where these horizontal and vertical lines cross one another exactly, at the level of your chest.
2. Travelling to the Deep Centre
Place your hand on this physical crossing point on your chest. Now move your attention away from your hand and your skin, directly to the exact, deep centre in the middle of your body. This is the physical anchor point of your heart-soul essence.
3. Allowing the Aspects to Merge
Rest with your full attention in this deep core. Invite the active, dualistic energies within you to withdraw from the outer world. Let the aspects of love and knowledge, and of conscious and spirit, come together in this space and gently merge with one another into their original unity.
4. The Sigh of Relief
Finally, picture yourself sinking down, in this deep centre, into a wonderful, utterly comfortable chair. Release a deep, audible sigh of relief. Give yourself over completely to the profound rest, the softening and the nurturing relaxation you find in this authentic state of being.
